About the course
This qualification is ideal for trade beginners. The course covers many study elements within the plumbing and domestic heating trade. The course consists of both practical and knowledge based learning in a realistic working environment. Upon completion you are placed at plumber’s mate level.
Course Content
The qualification will cover the following:
- Health and safety in building services engineering
- Plumbing principles and processes for building services engineering
- Common plumbing processes
- Cold water systems
- Domestic hot water systems
- Introduction of central heating systems
- Drainage systems
- Pipework
- Bathroom suite
This course provides the foundation to develop their plumbing skills to a recognised standard by the industry. Candidate will be able to progress to do one of the following courses at the end of the course
- Plumbing Diploma Level 3
- Plumbing NVQ Level 2
- Gas Managed Learning Programme (MLP) course
- Water Regulations and Hot Water System
Duration:
17 weeks, available on weekdays or evening and weekends
- 2 days per week (weekdays, 9am-5pm)
- 2 evenings (6pm – 9pm) plus Saturdays

This course costs £3,400 VAT Inc. The cost includes training, exam, learning materials, books and certification.
