About the course
If you are an experienced electrician with at least 2 years industry experience and you are looking to demonstration your wealth of experience with a competency assessment, then this could be the course for you.
The course covers the installation, inspection, testing, verification and certification of installations to BS 7671:2008 (2015). It will give you the opportunity to demonstrate your broad range of electrical knowledge and practical skills, keep up to date with all the latest Wiring Regulation amendments, and ultimately, deliver the highest safety standards for your customers.
It is appropriate for those wishing to work in either a domestic or commercial/industrial environment. The course is specifically designed for highly skilled and experienced electricians looking to demonstrate their competence to work to Part P of the Building Regulations and/or undertake commercial/industrial work, including 3-phase.
The course will provide a comprehensive overview of Inspection and Testing to BS 7671:2008 (2015) and is divided into the following topics:
- Safety and Regulations
- Inspection Procedures and Practices
- Safe Isolation
- Initial Verification of System Design
- Testing Sequence
On successful completion of this course and its associated assessments, you will receive the following City & Guilds accredited certificate:
- City & Guilds Accredited Competence in the Installation and Testing of Electrotechnical Systems NA7232-(5)
It will demonstrate your competence in line with the criteria of the industry recognised Electrotechnical Assessment specification and means you will be eligible to apply for NAPIT Electrical Membership. It therefore represents a step towards being able save time and money by self-certifying the electrical work you carry out under Part P of the Building Regulations.
