About the course

This qualification is for candidates who work or wish to work in the Electrical industry. The qualification aims to provide expert guidance to learners wishing to gain knowledge and understanding of electrical installations within buildings and structures. This qualification is primarily aimed at experienced electricians who already have passed Level 3 2365 or equivalent and simply need to book their NVQ assessments.

If you have already completed your Level 3 2365 Diploma and are looking to gain grading from the JIB as a fully qualified electrician, then you will need to complete this Level 3 NVQ assessment.

The Level 3 NVQ Diploma is a supporting, mentoring and assessment-based programme designed to help you gain this qualification whilst working onsite. The course consists of a range of assessments including:

Practical assessments, written assignments, multiple choice on-line tests and candidate on-site work portfolio.

Included in the cost of this NVQ are on site assessments. In most cases 3 well planned and structured assessments are enough for an assessor to ensure that your have covered each of the required units successfully. Assessment will take place at pre-agreed times to determine your progress and competence against the national standards.

Please note: Achievement Measurement Assessment of Occupational Competence is a practical test known as the AM2 Test in which the candidate’s competences are assessed against a range of tasks. The AM2 test is not included in the NVQ course. Applicant will be advised as to where and how you can undertake the AM2 test.

Who are they for

This NVQ Level 3 course will suit you if you have City & Guilds 2365-03 Electrical Installations qualification. On site experience is required, usually from a role where you’ve been supervised.

Duration

The length of time that the NVQ takes will depend on how quickly you can cover the different types of work required to complete all the units. As a rough guide we suggest the following:

  • 6-12 months for already working as, a contractor with a history of jobs you can reference
  • 12-18 months for recently qualified (2365 Level 3 Diploma) and working in the industry
